Angela "Angel" Menard Galbo

PICAYUNE — Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, La. for Angela “Angel” Menard Galbo, 49, of Picayune who passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, October 5, 2008.

Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.

A native of New Iberia, Angela lived most of her life in Picayune, which she considered her home. Her passions in life were music, singing, and spending time with her family and friends. Angel was always the life of the party, with her smart humor and vibrant personality. She brought happiness and laughter to those she cherished. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be profoundly missed.

She was preceded in death by: her mother, Barbara Ellen Menard; her brother, Michael Joseph Menard; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Broughton.

Survivors include: her husband, John Edward Galbo of Picayune; her father, DJ “Te-Neg” Menard and step-mother, Geraldine Menard of New Iberia; her children, Jacob Arnold Gipson of Picayune, and Samantha Menard Meshall and husband Jimmy of Picayune; her sister, Chaney Menard Melvin and husband Michael of Lafayette; her brother, Wayne Paul Menard and wife Pam of Slidell, La.; her step-brother, Dwayne Gaskins of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Tyler Menard, Dannaka Meshell, Courtney Meshell and Corey Meshell, all of Picayune; nieces, Brittany and Kerri; and nephews, Joey, Christopher, Jason and Justin.

Pallbearers will be Angel’s family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA.
