Marilyn Elaine Mitchell

PICAYUNE — Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the New Palestine Baptist Church for Marilyn Elaine Mitchell, 82, of Picayune who passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Burial will be Saturday, August 23, 2008 in the New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home, Picayune.

A native of Bogalusa, La., she was a homemaker and a member of the New Palestine Baptist Church. She was also formerly employed by Quick and Grice.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Doc David Pickard; her mother, Lilly Irene Mitchell; her mother-in-law, Aretha Stockstill Mitchell; two brothers and her husband, Horace E. Mitchell, Sr.

Survivors include: her three children, Ed and his wife Nancy Mitchell, Beth and her husband Lloyd McGregor, and David and his wife Linda Mitchell; her grandchildren: Jeremy, Julie, John, Amber, Robert, Donald, Mike, and Monica; her great-grandchildren: Kaden, Carson, Jenna, Kaitlin, J.D., Krystal, Christopher, Jim, Bill, Tori, and Brandon; her great-great-grandchildren: MaKala, Brayden, Anna Lynn, Sarah, Brennan, Caroline, Camille, Niki, Jaime, Dylan, Cierra, Savanna, Amy, and Levi; her three sisters-in-law: Nell McQueen, Ercell Mitchell and Virgie Pickard; two brothers-in-law: Billy J. Mitchell and L.D. Mitchell; her two sisters: Yvonne Pounds and Geraldine Stewart; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 22, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home, Picayune.
