PICAYUNE —
William Andrew Gasper, 86, of Picayune passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Highland Community Hospital.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with Father John Noone officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 18 from 10 a.m. -11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
Mr. Gasper, a resident of Picayune since 1951, was a carpenter, a Coast Guard World War II veteran, a member of the VFW, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Curtis Gasper.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and is survived by: his wife, Muriel Fay Gasper of Picayune; four sons, Gerald James Gasper of Petal, Miss., Andrew William Gasper of Picayune, Chester Joseph Gasper of Picayune, and Curtis Christopher Gasper of Bay St. Louis; two daughters, Linda Gasper Tufaro of Picayune and Jean Gasper Cuevas of Kiln; one brother, James Edwin Gasper of Chipley, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Eugene Cuevas, William Cuevas, Christine LeBlanc, Joshua Gasper, Kayla Gasper, Jonathan Gasper, Matthew Gasper and Kyle Joseph Gasper; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Cuevas, Isaac Cuevas and Julie Cuevas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home and Crematory.
