George Douglas Mitchell

PICAYUNE — Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 10 a.m. in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for George Douglas Mitchell, 77, of Picayune who passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009 in Picayune.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

The Rev. R.T. Buckley will officiate at the service.

A native of Picayune, he was a Logger and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Douglas was also a Veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Elijah D. Mitchell and Gertrude Walker Mitchell; two brothers, Darris Mitchell and Ferris Mitchell; and one sister, Nell Dyson.

Survivors include: two sons, Bruce D. Mitchell and wife, Jennie Mitchell of Picayune, and Stanley E. Mitchell and wife, Sheila Mitchell of Picayune; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clinton Mitchell and Roger Mitchell, both of Picayune; and a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.
