Hershel Leland Dillard, Sr.

NICHOLSON — Hershel Leland Dillard, Sr., 67, of Nicholson passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1 at 4 p.m. at Westlawn Baptist Church, with Bro. Scott Downes officiating. Burial will follow at Gipson Cemetery, under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Westlawn Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 30 from 6–10 p.m.

Hershel, a lifetime resident of Picayune, was a Carpenter and a member of Westlawn Baptist Church. He loved family and friends very much and he will be missed greatly.

He is survived by: his wife, Margaret Dillard; two sons, Hershel L. Dillard, Jr. and Donnie D. Pervel; two daughters, Deborah Dillard Collum and Shelia Ann Dillard Sherrer; son-in-law, Mike Collum; daughter-in-law, Melanie A. How Dillard; three brothers, Larry P. Dillard, Kenneth Ray Dillard and Douglas A. Dillard; three sisters, Dela Dillard Spiers, Louise Dillard Effler and Helen Dillard Billiot; seven grandchildren, Sarah A. Sherrer, Hershel L. Dillard, III, Colby W. Dillard, Cody J. Dillard, Clint Micheal Collum, Stephen B. Prevel and Johnathan M. Prevel; and many other friends and relatives. They are expecting their first great-grandson, Tye Richard Dillard in October.

Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
