Donald Edward Burnette, Sr.

CARRIERE — Donald Edward Burnette. Sr., 76, of Carriere passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Harry Burge and Bro. Brad Miles officiating. Visitation will be at Picayune Funeral Home on Monday, May 12, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. Burial will be in Lee’s Chapel #1 Cemetery, under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.

Donald was a pipe fitter/welder, a member of the Pipefitters Union #72, a U.S. Army Veteran, a Mason, and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Fannie Burnette; two brothers, George Allen Burnette and William Eugene Burnette.

He is survived by: three sons, Donald Burnette, Jr., Curtis Glen Burnette and David Wayne Burnette, Sr., all of Carriere; brother, Leonard Curtis Burnette of Buena Vista, Calif.; sister, Audrey M. Stone of Carriere; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home and Crematory.
