Freddy Ziegler with the National Weather Service in Slidell said forecasters are predicting areas within the watch area could get two to four inches of rain through Sunday morning.
Ziegler said there could be some isolated higher amounts along the coast.
The expected heavy rainfall is due to an upper level trough that has been sitting over the middle portion of the country. The trough has allowed the moisture sitting over Florida to drift over to our area, he said.
