HATTIESBURG — The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) New Talavan Community in Carriere is featured in the new documentary “subSIPPI.” The main goal of the film is to give the public an honest portrayal of Mississippi in 2013 that showcases the progression and evolution of the state.
Director, Diamondhead native Vincent Chaney, 22, along with his partners Lauren Cioffi and Gregory Gandy, began filming for “subSIPPI” in August 2012. The team traveled from Carriere to the Coast, up to Meridian, to Oxford, down to the Delta, then Natchez and to Jackson filming the state’s many different subcultures.
