Friends of Boley are ready to clean up Hobolochitto Creek tomorrow morning.
The event was rescheduled from last weekend as a safety precaution as Tropical Storm Karen threatened heavy rains and high winds before falling apart.
Registration for the five-mile cleanup begins at 7:30 a.m. and canoes will begin entering the water at 8 a.m.
The cleanup starting point is next to Long Bridge on Beech Street where the staging area for sign-in, food, medics and canoe loading will be located.
Two weekends ago, crews of volunteers went along the route and cut tree trunks and loose, floating trees into moveable sizes.
Friends of Boley began cleaning the creek in 2010 and have continued to keep Boley Creek clean and navigable.
Dedicated to protecting and restoring the quality of the Hobolochitto (Boley) Creek, the vision of Friends of Boley is to provide a clean and safe waterway for current and future generations.
