“Upon arrival, the complainant stated that ‘a white-male wearing a camouflage hat, a green shirt and blue shorts’ approached the counter saying he wanted to buy cigarettes,” Assistant to the Chief of Police Jeremy Magri said. “He pulled his wallet out and was not able to pay for the cigarettes.
“The suspect then asked the complainant if she had change for a quarter,” Magri said.
She proceeded to open the cash drawer to make change, said Magri. “At which time, the suspect pulled a knife out of his pocket,” he said. “The suspect held the knife towards her,” Magri said. “The complainant thought he was joking.”
The suspect then put the knife closer to her and told her to hurry up, said Magri. “The complainant reached in the cash drawer and handed the suspect an undetermined amount of money.”
The suspect fled out of the front door after receiving the money, said Magri.
Detectives processed the scene and recovered a camouflage hat in the parking lot.
“The area was searched and the suspect could not be located,” Magri said.
