In the early morning hours Sunday, a tobacco store on West Union Street in Carriere was burglarized, said Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier of the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office.
“Larsen gained entry into the buildings,” Saucier said. “An undetermined amount of merchandise was stolen from the business.”
The Sheriff’s Office shared a still photo of Larsen from the store’s surveillance system on their Facebook page.
“On Monday, the Sheriff’s Office received a tip from a citizen on the identity of the suspect,” Saucier said.
Investigators were able to confirm that the suspect was Larsen and a also received a description of the vehicle he was driving, said Saucier.
“On this same date, a narcotics investigator with the Sheriff’s Office observed Larsen driving south bound on Interstate 59,” he said.
A traffic stop was conducted and Larsen was taken into custody without incident, said Saucier.
“During an inventory of the vehicle Larsen was driving,” Saucier said, “investigators recovered what they believed to be the tool Larsen used to gain entry into the business.”
Larsen was arrested and charged with commercial burglary.
