Six more suspects who were sought as part of an early morning roundup of suspects for the fraudulent acquisition of prescription medication have been found and arrested, said Jeremy Magri, assistant to the Picayune Police Chief.
The roundup sought to arrest suspects who believed to have illegally purchased prescriptions from a doctor who had lost his license, at times for $50 a script, but continued to write prescriptions for narcotic medications. According to information from agencies involved in the roundup and which appeared in a previous story in the Picayune Item, the doctor, Je Song, has been convicted for his part in the crime and sentenced to 11 years in federal custody.
Several of the suspects who had warrants issued for their arrest were picked up on the morning of March 13, but some were not home or changed their place of residence, Magri said. Recently, six of those remaining suspects have been picked up, five by the Picayune Police Department, and the sixth was in custody of the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and has since had a hold placed on her by the police department, he said.
All suspects face varying numbers of fraudulent acquisition of a controlled substance charges, Magri said.
The newly arrested suspects are 54-year-old Pamela Mosely of 416 Goodyear Blvd., for one count on March 14; 27-year-old Christopher Johnson of 17216 Gardenia St., Kiln, for one count on March 19; 39-year-old Jody McDaniel, Jr., of 316 Moody St., for 10 counts on March 15; 27-year-old Jonathan Robnett of 32 Meadow Lane, for two counts on March 15, and 25-year-old Blake Forsythe of 17201 Gardenia St., Kiln for one count on March 15, Magri said. The Sheriff’s Department had 23-year-old Sara Hartfield, who has an unknown address, in custody for a separate charge so the Police Department placed a hold on her for three counts on March 14, Magri said.
The Police Department is still looking for 50-year-old Jeffery Effler of 1221 Manning St., for one count; 57-year-old James Wallace of 21260 Lawrence Rd., Kiln, for two counts; 57-year-old Jody McDaniel, Sr., of 316 Moody St., for three counts; 32-year-old Jamie Howard of 134 Browning Circle for two counts; 32-year-old Jeremiah Easley of 10 Lucile St., for four counts; 53-year-old Joleen Davis of 114 Martin St., for eight counts; 54-year-old Linda Sikes of 420 Dumas Bailey Rd., for four counts, Magri said.
