Investigators with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a burglary that occurred over the weekend at Logan’s Quick Stop in Nicholson.
Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier said the department received a call from a member of the community that the store’s front door was open Saturday morning at 4:42, an hour at which the store should be closed.
Deputies and investigators arrived and conducted a sweep to check for suspects and determined that there was no one in the building, Saucier said. The case was assigned to Detective Mark Ogden, who processed the scene and noted several items were missing from the store. Saucier said details of what was taken are being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.
The investigation is gathering witness statements, video surveillance from the store and other evidence as Ogden works to identify the suspect or suspects involved in the burglary, Saucier said.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call Ogden at 601-403-2530 or they can submit information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 601-799-CLUE (2583).
