The first warrant was served around noon at 901 Charlotte Dr. According to a release from the department Investigators have purchased narcotics and observed narcotics related activity during previous surveillance operations.

In the search investigators seized about $1,500, and recovered evidence of narcotics and vice activity. Union Rd., Carriere, after a traffic stop was conducted on their vehicle as they left the Comfort Inn. Investigators received information about drug activity and a possible meth lab at Miller’s room at the Comfort Inn. Officers found drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and pills inside the vehicle.

Officers also stopped Alicia Goynes, 39, of 8036 U.S. Highway 11 North after she left the same room. In her vehicle they found marijuana. Goynes was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

Investigators then obtained a search warrant for room 119 at the Comfort Inn. Inside the room they found a large amount of marijuana, methamphetamine, precursor chemicals and equipment for making methamphetamine, counterfeit currency, and a pistol, which was listed as stolen with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office, the release states.

Miller additionally was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 ft. of a church or school, possession of precursor chemicals, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of counterfeit currency, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. Miller is in the Picayune City Jail awaiting a bond hearing in Municipal Court.
