Eviction leads to drug arrest

By Jeremy Pittari
item Staff Writer

PICAYUNE Enforcing a service of removal warrant on the residents of a home led to the arrest of two of the home’s former residents, based on drug charges.

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier said the incident took place Oct. 18, at about 8:30 in the morning as Constable Ray Bennett asked for assistance serving the eviction notice at 60 Aubrey Aden Rd.

Two narcotics investigators went to assist Bennett, Saucier said. Upon entry of the home, Bennett and the investigators saw Kristy Lynn Sabido Eaves, 26, and Christopher Moore, 28, both formerly of the address, in the kitchen. The officers witnessed Eaves pick something up off the kitchen table and put it in her front pocket.

Several pieces of tin foil with residue were found on the table. Saucier said tin foil is commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.

Eaves and Moore were placed under arrest for possession of paraphernalia and a search of the home and persons on scene followed, Saucier said. Eaves was found to have a half of a methadone tablet and three fourths of a Xanax pill on her. As a result, Eaves was charged additionally with felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.

Bennett also found a black bag filled with alleged precursor chemicals such as ether, ammonium nitrate, lithium batteries and several packages of ephedrine. A Hazmat crew was called out to clean up the home, Saucier said.

Moore and Eaves also were charged with possession of precursor chemicals.

After the home was cleaned, it was turned over to the owner, Saucier said.
