Authorities say a December 1 trial date has been set in federal court for a man accused of home repair fraud.
State Auditor Stacy Pickering said in a news release on Wednesday that Clinton Tapper faces charges in a Hancock County case. Pickering says the case involves three Hurricane Katrina-related grants totaling about $200,000.
Pickering says his office currently has over 250 active Katrina fraud cases and is working with federal and state officials in the investigations.
