Sex offender arrested in home of victim

Associated Press

Meridian Lauderdale County deputies have charged a Meridian woman with harboring sexual offender.

Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says Anthony Johnson served time for sexual battery, was released on probation, and was living in the same house as the child he had assaulted. Johnson’s wife, Charllie, has been charged with harboring a sex offender.

Calhoun says Anthony Johnson’s last known address was in Winston County. Calhoun says he has been charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

Calhoun said the Mississippi Department of Human Services took charge of the minor child.

Charllie Johnson was being held on $20,000 bond. Anthony Johnson’s bond was $15,000.
