Nine casinos in Harrison County have been given the OK to reopen.
Gaming Commission officials late Tuesday approved the opening of the casinos at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Mississippi Gaming Commission executive director Larry Gregory said the casinos can open after getting approval from the fire marshal, the Department of Health and others including a showing that security and surveillance systems are operational.
Gregory says the two casinos in Hancock County, Hollywood Bay St. Louis and Silver Slipper, will remain closed because a curfew still exists there.
Hollywood Bay St. Louis came through the storm with only a couple of light posts and a fence blown down.
Silver Slipper had damage to coolers and freezers on the first level. Officials say the Silver Slipper can reopen within a week.
