Fatal accident on Ceasar Road

PICAYUNE A one vehicle accident left two brothers dead and the driver in the hospital.

The accident occurred on Caesar Road near the intersection of Moeller Road at about 1 p.m. Saturday, said Pearl River County Chief Investigator Maj. Shane Tucker.

At that time, a north-bound 1994 Chevy S-10 left the road for an unknown reason, rolled several times and struck a tree. Three individuals were in the truck at the time, Justin Simmons, 18, James Simmons, 15, and Robert Steele, 18, all of Picayune, Tucker said.

James Simmons was pronounced dead on the scene. James Simmons’ brother, Justin Simmons, was transported to Forrest General Hospital by helicopter, but later died as a result of his injuries, Tucker said.

The driver, Steele, was transported to Highland Community Hospital by ambulance and later to Forrest General Hospital by helicopter, Tucker said.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, Tucker said.
