Narcotics team arrests four

From Staff Reports
The Picayune Item

PICAYUNE Four Picayune residents were arrested on Thursday on drug and other charges by Picayune narcotics officers, with assistance from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office and the state Bureau of Narcotics agents, according to a press release from the Picayune Police Dept.

Arrested during the service of a search warrant at 424 N. Abrams Ave. shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday were Decori “D.K.” King, 28, and Allen Quinn, 28, both of 424 N. Abrams, and Ronald Porter, 25, of 108 S. Howard Ave. and a black female juvenile, the press release said. An unidentified male suspect who was not present also will face charges from the results of the search of the residence, according to the press release.

Picayune narcotics investigators had reason to believe that illegal narcotics and weapons were being kept at the residence, the release says. Officers found marijuana bagged for sale, cocaine, body armor, two loaded shotguns and two loaded handguns during the search, according to the press release.

The arrests are the result of an investigation into the activities of King, Quinn and other suspects, according the release. This also is the second time in less than two weeks in which narcotics and weapons have been found in the area of North Abrams Avenue and the police department will continue to keep watch in the area for more drug and illegal weapons activity, according to the release.

King has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm, conspiracy to sell a controlled substance, felony obstruction of justice and on a warrant for sale of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a church or school. Quinn was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm, conspiracy to sell a controlled substance and on a warrant for simple assault-domestic violence. Porter has been charged with conspiracy to sell a controlled substance. The unidentified juvenile was charged with conspiracy to sell a controlled substance.

Charges against King, Quinn and Porter in relation to the possession of weapons and body armor are pending while officers await the results of further investigation.
