HANCOCK SALUTATORIAN — Eamonn Mehaffey, the son of Billy and Michelle Mehaffey of Diamondhead, is salutatorian of the Hancock High School Senior Class of 2009. He played six years of varsity soccer, and lettered in track and field, cross country, and tennis. He was a member of Hancock High School’s chapters of Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America), National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta, serving as president of FBLA and of National Honor Society. He was chosen as Hancock High School’s STAR Student and was one of 16 Lindy Callahan Scholar-Athletes in Miss. He will attend Tulane University with a double-major in English and Philosophy and a complementary study of Pre-Medicine via the Tulane Presidential Scholarship. The Picayune Item
