Keesler to host Special Olympics

BILOXI, Miss. — Keesler Air Force Base will host the Special Olympics this weekend.

This year will mark the Special Olympics’ 40th anniversary. Keesler has hosted the event in Biloxi for more than two decades.

Some 800 athletes are expected to compete. The annual event draws more than 3,000 volunteers from Keesler and the community.

The events begin Friday and run through Sunday.
