The Picayune Item
Paul Berdux of Bad to the Bone Team BBQ and Reggie Smith of Sho-Nuff BBQ & Catering are two well known names on the local competitive barbecue circuit. The two big names have equally big hearts and have teamed up to hold the 2nd Annual “Best of the Best” BBQ Competition which will take place on October 5, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Snyder Park. Smith began the event last year and donated proceeds to a local non-profit in need. This year the event will benefit Jacob’s Well Recovery Center.
There is still time to either sponsor or compete in the event. Either will require a $200 commitment. For grillmasters the amount will cover three wristbands, three shirts and meat for all four categories. For sponsors the amount will include a banner at the event, three wristbands and three shirts. The registration deadline of September 20 is fast approaching; both Smith and Berdux encourage all to participate in this event and support Jacob’s Well which is a tax-deductible non-profit. For more information contact Berdux at 601-990-6165 or email him at email@example.com.
