The Picayune Item
Bettye Pierce of WIN Job Center in Picayune presented a powerpoint on free services for employers at the Chamber Morning Call on June 28.
Pierce described several services which employers have full access to through the WIN Job Center.
“Employers have the opportunity to post job openings on our website for free. We are constantly recruiting, screening and referring job seekers to our employers who post job needs,” said Pierce. “We offer information on the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program, which runs through the state and gives employers the opportunity to earn $9,600 tax credit for hiring from certain pools of applicants.”
In addition to these services, WIN Job Center offers office space for meetings, interviewing, on-site screening and skills training. It offers PC labs for training, e-verification service, assists companies through Rapid Response services to either stop or manage layoffs and assists with the Trade Adjustment Assistance Program.
“We also offer Labor Market information, provide information on Foreign Worker Employment Certification Guidelines and Federal Bonding Program,” she said.
“We are available and accessible to employers either on the Internet or in person. An employer can search online through their private account 24/7. I am always looking for compatible matches within our employer/jobseeker database. In this day and time, businesses are trying to conserve funds and save money where they can. We are a solid solution to their needs.”
