Make your way to the chamber banquet

Next week, the Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce will commemorate its 80th anniversary by hosting a celebration.
Many businesses won’t make it to their 10-year anniversary, much less 80 years.
The success of a municipality’s chamber of commerce depends on a lot of factors.
It needs a dedicated leader and staff, a board of directors willing to lend their help and business owners who want to promote and keep their businesses open for years to come.
The chamber not only promotes businesses, but also the community by hosting and sponsoring events designed to draw folks to the area.
Once here, visitors are allowed an opportunity to see for themselves the many benefits of either moving here or opening a business.
A ticket to this event costs $35 and proceeds will be donated to the Picayune School District’s Excel By 5 program.
This program provides educational resources to parents and children.
In doing so, children will be more prepared to begin kindergarten.
Excel By 5 is a great asset to any community and we support programs that educate our children and give them a good foundation in preparation for the school years.
The purchase of a ticket includes a three-course meal and attendees will hear from Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann and Joy Foy with the Mississippi Development Authority.
During the program, the chamber’s new website will be revealed, which is an asset, especially when visitors are researching our area.
This event will provide attendees with a detailed look at the programs offered by the chamber and the many benefits of joining.
We encourage you to attend and learn more about the great things the chamber is doing to promote Picayune.
Tickets will be available for purchase at the chamber office until Thursday, April 14.
