Christopher David King, 48, of Pearl River County passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Gulfport.
He was born in Camp Pendleton, Calif. and was a resident of Pearl River County for most of his life. He was a graduate of Pearl River Central High School, Pearl River Community College and University of Southern Mississippi.  He was a special education teacher and swim coach at Pearl River Central High School. He was a member of Mississippi Association of Coaches and Mississippi Professional Educator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas King, Sr. and Lily Von Spence King; grandparents, Toxie and Edna Spence and Willie Bob and Alva King; his aunts, Olene Dockery, Hattie Mae Brown and Margie Spiers.
Chris is survived a brother, William T. King Jr; his uncles, James King and Carl King; his aunt Linda Faye Burrow; his cousins, Danielle Bueno, Marsha Ellis, Doylene Duchman, Brad Spiers, Blake Spiers, Sheena McDonald, Lynn Messenger, Kevin McMahon, Buddy McMahon, Cassie Jonas, and numerous other cousins and their spouses and children; his dear close friends, Beverly Griffing, Crystal Penton, Monique Fuller, Cadence Griffing, and the Eastridge and Lee families.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Chris King Memorial Scholarship Fund at Bank Plus.
The funeral service is Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church in Picayune with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow after the service at Pearson Cemetery in Pearl River County.
