Berry has danced with Center Stage School of Dance, which is owned and operated by Tonya Barnum, since 2002.

Berry said that in order for the students to perform, they each had to send in an audition tape to Walt Disney executives, along with dance routines to be performed and costumes that would be worn.

“Around 25 students went and performed Jazz, lyrical and hip-hop routines,” Berry said.

“They get so much out of the experience besides the opportunity to perform at Disney. The opportunity gives them a better advantage to become an employee of Disney as a dancer, if they have participated.”

The dancers will be performing the same numbers at their dance recital on June 14, at the Picayune High School Auditorium. Recital times have not yet been determined. For more information call 601-273-0258.
