SPARTA, Wis. — Dorothy L. Bainter, 92, of Sparta, passed away peacefully Monday, July 8, 2013 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta, Wis. She was born on September 18, 1920 in Milwaukee, Wis. to Ross and Katherine (Adami) Bullen. She married Kenneth J. Bainter on August 13, 1955 in Sparta.

Dorothy traveled to Germany twice with her family while her husband was in the service. She loved taking care of her family and neighborhood children.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Kenneth on December 2, 2007; and two brothers.

Dorothy is survived by: her five sons: Donald (Julie) Wesselman of Poplarville, Miss., William (Myrna) Wesselman of Rochester, Minn., Janice Turnmire, John (Edie) Bainter, Kenny Ray (Holly) Bainter, Dori Tasker, and Jimmy (Candi) Bainter, all of Sparta; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Katherine Knoll of Sparta.  

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home in Sparta, with the Rev. Cassandra M. Sauter officiating. Burial will be in Cataract Cemetery, Cataract.
