The girlfriend of a suspect arrested last week for the strong-arm robbery of a woman at a local bank, has been charged with accessory before the fact.

According to information from police quoted in a previous story in the Picayune Item on April 25, officers were called out to the area of Hancock Bank and Winn-Dixie on Memorial Boulevard in reference to a strong-arm robbery that occurred in front of the bank.

Officers responded and quickly captured 18-year-old Drin Shaw of 100 Auderer Blvd., Apt. H-5 Waveland, who was charged with strong-arm robbery. Shaw’s girlfriend, 24-year-old Shavonne Honeycutt of 1113 Merrydale Dr., also was arrested, but for the charge of possession of marijuana after a search of her person found the controlled substance.

Picayune Police Assistant to the Chief of Police Jeremy Magri said continued investigation led to Honeycutt being charged with accessory before the fact of strong-arm robbery. Magri said the investigation showed Honeycutt was aware Shaw was going to head to the bank with the intention of robbing someone in order to secure enough cash so they could get a vehicle out of an impound.
