Elizabeth Warshauer is now sharing her intense dance education and training with the students of X-Finity Dance Academy, in Picayune. She teaches pre-pointe, pointe, ballet, modern, contemporary, technique, stretch and flexibility, Improvisation, choreography along with individualized skilled private lessons. Her one goal in life is to give students the opportunity to experience dance as she has been doing for her entire life, while watching them grow.  She is giving the students a better knowledge of the art of dance so they can become one of many amazing dancers, artists, dance majors, and performers to receive scholarships from dance teams and other related activities in arts and dance.

Warshauer, originally from New Orleans, La., started her dance training at the tender age of two.  She relocated to Picayune, but continued to train in classical ballet and Pointe in Slidell, La., until she was 17. She was home schooled and upon graduation, continued to expand her education by enrolling at the University of Southern Mississippi to pursue a degree in dance.  After a very rigorous audition, she was accepted into the Dance Department.

The curriculum from the University consists of intensive training in classical ballet, Pointe and modern/contemporary dance.  She also received training in Bartenieff Fundamentals, Dance History, Improvisation, Dance Composition/choreography and teaching methods. During her enrollment at Southern Mississippi, she grasped the opportunity to choreograph for the department of dance.

All dance pieces must be evaluated through a process called Adjudication, where the dance faculty watches as many as 20 performances and decides which will be part of the semester’s concerts. Warshauer’s senior piece was entitled “Ulterior Motives” and was featured in the department’s main stage spring dance concert in April 2012. In August her piece picture for “Ulterior Motives” was featured on the cover of Hattiesburg’s Signature Magazine. She was selected from multiple submissions from the South Mississippi Arts divisions to represent great work.

Warshauer has now graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelors Degree in Performance/Choreography and will continue to share the passion and drive of her love of art in dance to a new generation of students.
